Fever's Caitlin Clark Edges Sky's Angel Reese for First Home Win

Indiana Edges Chicago 71-70

Clark's Late Heroics Lift Fever

Caitlin Clark's heroics lifted the Indiana Fever to a thrilling 71-70 victory over the Chicago Sky on Thursday night. The rookie guard scored 11 points, including the game-winning layup with just seconds remaining, as the Fever snapped their eight-game losing streak.

The game was a tightly contested affair throughout, with neither team leading by more than five points at any point in the second half. Aliyah Boston gave the Fever a 71-67 lead with a layup and free throw with 1:38 remaining, but Angel Reese answered with a layup of her own to cut the lead to just two.

Clark then took over, driving to the basket and drawing a foul on Reese. She calmly sank both free throws to give the Fever a 73-69 lead with just 10 seconds remaining. Reese hit a free throw to cut the lead to two, but Clark stole the ball on the ensuing possession to seal the win.

Clark's performance was a microcosm of her impressive rookie season. The former Iowa star is averaging 17.6 points, 6.6 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game, and she has been a key part of the Fever's recent turnaround.

With the win, the Fever improve to 1-8 on the season, while the Sky fall to 3-3. The Fever will host the Sky again on Saturday night.
