Mauricio Pochettino has stepped down as Chelsea head coach after less than 11 months in charge. The Argentine manager, who took over at Stamford Bridge in July 2023, departs by mutual consent.

Pochettino, 52, enjoyed a successful playing career with Newell's Old Boys, Espanyol, and Paris Saint-Germain before transitioning into management. He previously managed Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, guiding Tottenham to the Champions League final in 2019.

The decision to part ways with Pochettino follows a disappointing season for Chelsea, who finished eighth in the league and failed to qualify for any European competition. The club also struggled in domestic cup competitions, being eliminated early from the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
